Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

K.M. Gallagher I was trying to come up with a utopian world, actually. I thought, everyone’s always jealous of each other. What if they all had the same amount of the same things? That way everyone would be treated equally.
Obviously, that’s communism, and it hasn’t worked in practice, so I changed the world from a utopia to a dystopia and wrote, like, two paragraphs. I later changed it up, but that was the seed idea for Defy.
