Reading wonderful books inspires me and makes me want to write my own. Some writers get inspired by bad books. Many a writer has said that he or she read bad books and thought, if this awful thing can get published, I can get published!
It never worked that way for me. Reading bad books just distressed me. Instead, I'd think, if even this awful thing can get published, why can't I?
But reading wonderful, wonderful books makes me overflow with the joy of it all, and next thing I know I'm diving back into my own worlds and my own ideas with renewed verve.
