Goodreads asked Tom Evans:

How do you get inspired to write?

Tom Evans In my case, it's mostly discipline. I have several ongoing longer projects going at a time, and each day I leave off at a spot where I know I can pick it up the next day. Also constantly reworking my stories. Constant sublimation is my key. As for poetry, I come up with an idea (thank goodness they keep coming), jot it down, and begin writing when I am ready. Very rarely does it come in one fell swoop. That's where the sublimation comes in. when I feel I'm ready, I go back at it again. I have a "Poems in Progress" file, which aids in this.
