Goodreads asked Jakub Trpiš:

How do you get inspired to write?

Jakub Trpiš When I was a child I didn’t think that I will be a writer one day. Even at grammar school I wasn’t interested in literature. When I grew up I started to read books about personal growth, spirituality, happiness and I changed my opinions and basic beliefs in my life. I realized that my parents didn’t tell me lot of things. That time I was at university and I still didn’t want to be a writer. I really loved working on my diploma thesis, but this is far from writing a novel, right? After a school I started my blog, where I wrote 100+ articles in 5 years. Many people liked them, but at that time I still didn’t know that I will be writer one day. You might think that I was stupid because it was so obvious, and you are right :-D

Everything changed in 2011, when inspiration for my first book came to me. It was very strong and strange feeling, so much ideas, that I had to start write The Choice immediately. For me writing is way how to connect to my soul, to my deepest fears and desires. Later I found out that I can connect through my books with another people and this is the best way how I can communicate with you. I can share the wisdom which is inside of all of us so both of us can have happier and more fulfilled life.
The Choice became a bestseller in Czech Republic (small country in the middle of Europe) and helped thousands of people already. I am trying it in rest of the world now. I never been so happy that I listened to my soul and stared to write. I can’t image my life without it.

PS: I know that my English isn’t the best one, but no worries - my translator is native speaker and really great guy, so there are no mistakes. Sometimes I think that he translated much better then I wrote it.

Have a great day! Jakub
