Hi Paul! I just binge read The Cabin At The End Of The World. I'm gay and in a gay marriage and I have to tell you how nice it was to read about a family that represented my own experiences! What inspired you to make Eric and Andrew a gay couple? Was there a reason? It's really nice for gay people to read about gay characters in books where the point of the story is not that the characters are gay!

Thank you, Alex, for the kind note. I really appreciate it. While I'll admit that I wanted the book to work as a political allegory for our current socio-political predicament, I also just wanted to write a story about Andrew and Eric, both of whom came to life almost instantly in my head, as they're both amalgams of very important people in my life.

Damn It Paul!!!!! I want to throw your new book against the wall. Then pick it up and read it again and again and then stomp on it and damn it you are the master of twists and turns and human psyche. You are my new hero-slash-go to guilty pleasure. So PLEASE CAN YOU write more NOW?? So I can read your wonderful deep and torturously brilliant books. I am going back to read Head Full of Ghosts and maybe re-read it.

Hello dear Paul, I read AHFOG, but it has been Growing Things that has solidified my liking for your style. I think your experiments with format and your hand at combining mundane, familial pathos with the supernatural lends itself really well to short stories. Out of all such stories, is there any you are particularly proud of, be it because of theme, execution, idea or any other reasons? Thank you!
