How do you get inspired to write?

Suzanne Skees Because my current book series comprises collections of first-person stories by real people working in a range of jobs, I literally get inspired by my subject matter. Interviewing people about their jobs has turned out to be a deep experience of witnessing multidimensional human beings share the most vulnerable, intimate details of their childhood and dreams, trauma and beliefs. They just unfold like flowers. It's humbling to be in the presence of such ordinary (unsung) heroes working so hard to change the world through nursing, music, teaching, architecture, diplomacy, etc.
