How do you deal with writer’s block?

Robert Watson When I get writer's block, I usually write background information on the characters in the book I'm currently working on. I try to write about their history, how they got to where they are and why they do the things they do. By fleshing the characters and settings out more in my mind, I come up with more inspiration to write.
