How do you get inspired to write?

Susan R. Hopkins I was an avid reader until I started writing. I'd read so many books, I decided to see if I could collect my thoughts and pen them. With "Beauty and the Beast" as my favorite childhood fairy tale, "Gone with the Winds" Rhett and Scarlett as my bar as to capturing a modern day depiction of their personalities, and always wanting to enhance the emotions conveyed in "Bridges of Madison County", I wrote "Madison's Retreat" and gave the setting a North Carolina/South Carolina spin.
