How do you get inspired to write?

Mars Stirhaven I only wanted to tell the true story. I read the Reader's Digest article when I was a kid and dreamed of searching for treasure. I didn't think about this mystery again until I started binging on the TV series. There was an instant, around the time the Lagina's started finding bits of things in the Money Pit, that I knew they were finally on to something--that something must have happened on Oak Island. Then I heard the series might be cancelled and decided I would research it myself, and at some point I knew I had so much that I had to write it up and I wrote it at a feverish pace!
