Las últimas dinastías es algo así como un homenaje a todas las grandes obras de ciencia ficción que me han cautivado desde pequeño. Contiene reminiscencias a Alien, Depredador, Duna, Los expedientes secretos X, Star Wars y muchas más. Pero la estructura y el corazón de la trama provienen en realidad de la literatura fantástica, más precisamente de J.R.R. Tolkien y en mayor medida aún de George R.R. Martin.
