The Secrets You Hide comes from my own experiences as a court reporter when I worked in newspapers and TV - but also from a brilliant podcast I heard about courtroom artists in the USA. I began to wonder what it would be like to stare at killers and other criminals and try to reproduce their faces. The character of Georgia - damaged, determined, vengeful - formed from there.
