Real life experiences and people-watching. Not all of my writing is true, by any means, but I work better with things that are a concrete part of my brain. Parts of our first book, No Brief Affair, were based on our own romance, but most of the book was fiction. The story was inspired by different things—people we know, for example, or places we've been, things we've done, and our careers.
