Goodreads asked Ken Hansen:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Ken Hansen In my experience, writer's block arrives because I have simply not thought through a problem or story line well enough. Something deep inside says, "Think harder." So I go on a bike ride or go for a walk to settle my brain by thinking freely without the pressure of writing. When I come back, I begin to outline options to deal with the problem blocking me. That gets the grey cells cooking, and I usually find a good answer that moves me forward. Another trick is to always do a light revision of your last day's work before you dig into writing something new. It reminds you of context and the ideas flow more easily.
