Goodreads asked Darrell Gibbs:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Darrell Gibbs As an Indie writer, learn from other authors and network yourself. Use social media to create a following of readers that will want to read more of your books. I would like to say, learn as much as you can about your craft first. Writing in a specific genre is completely different as your readers are accustomed to reading books in a certain format such as the character and plot outlines, etc. Educate yourself in the entire process of the book industry such as in book formatting, cover design, marketing, promotion etc for your books. Be prepared professionally. Next, you can write till your hearts content and craft the best ever book. Most importantly ensure you get your manuscript professionally edited and then you can plan on the big day to list your book with retailers. There is so much to learn and will only better prepare in your writing career.
