Why was Aiken, SC chosen for the present day of Before We Were Yours? I’m very curious about this since Aiken is my home town! Thank you.

I'm sorry to take so long. I guess I missed seeing this. I've been to Aiken numerous times. Once to do a presentation for American Assoc. Of University Women, and several times to visit my reader-friend. He is a sweet gentleman, who likes to stay unnamed. He wrote me years ago after picking up one of my novels and enjoying it. He was retired an offered to help me with any technical issues or helping to spread the word about my books. He was my major consultant about J.Norman's space age career in Dandelion Summer.
I think Aiken is a lovely town with that southern feeling, a famous senator comes from there, and I just thought it would be perfect for the Stafford family.

Hello Lisa, My mom's book club read "Before We Were Yours," and she gave it to me when she came to visit for Christmas. I have one question that I didn't see covered in the book. How would Trent have been able to trace Judy and find out what happened to Lark since Georgia changed the kids' names and she and the people who cooperated with her falsified so many records? Thanks, Marni

Just finished this book. GREAT read!! Had me laughing, crying and wanting to push Georgia Tann, and a few others, out a window. What a sad, sad situation. What actually happened to Camellia? All I remember is she was taken then rendered non existent. Did she die, or like Gabion..get lost in the shuffle? I know they are fictional characters but I still find myself wanting closure haha.

I loved Before We Were Yours and it really moved me to try to find out more about my great grandmother, Sophia Belle Wright who by family rumor was born in Aiken SC around 1895. Rumor has it that she and her sister were placed in an orphanage in Aiken SC operated by the Catholic Church. The sisters were adopted by Thomas Wright and his wife? Harriett Floyd from Augusta but it's hard to know what is truth.
