Goodreads asked Gary L. Close:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Gary L. Close I sit down and start to write.
There is no prescription to good writing but to write. Later you might edit. But I've never found that I could not write once I sat down and told myself to get to work. I think the attitude comes from my journalistic background.
When you have a deadline there is no such thing as writer's block, just a nervous effort to put words on paper in a coherent manner. Writing fiction merely adds the need to make the words interesting to the reader.
