Liam asked Andrew Lam:

Hi Dr Lam, I was wondering if you have any books that you would recommend to a medical student interested in ophthalmology? I just finished Saving Sight, which I really enjoyed, and I'm looking for some further reading. Thanks, Liam

Andrew Lam Hi Liam, Great question. I'm glad you are considering ophthalmology. It's a wonderful field and choosing it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Here are two books you could consider:

"Basic Ophthalmology" which is published by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and covers a lot of fundamental info that will help you shine in your ophthalmology rotations.

And, if you are really serious about applying for residency, you should check out the Wills Eye Manual, which is the all-time best selling book in the field and used by most residents as an easy reference on how to handle almost every eye condition. Good luck!
