Hi Paul, first off, you are my favorite new author. Head Full of Ghosts was my favorite but Devil's Rock and Cabin were fantastic as well. I am very much looking forward to seeing Head Full of Ghosts adapted for the screen but let's face it...I'm scared! How involved are you going to be with the process? What are the things that you refuse to deviate from, even if the studio wants to edit? Are you writing screenplay?
Paul Tremblay
Hi, Nicole. Thank you very much for the read and kind words!
I have no contractual/official say with either adaptation right now. AHFoG is getting close, I'm told. Osgood Perkins is directing and hopefully we'll see some more movement forward soon.
With Cabin they are looking for directors now.
So, yeah, I'm not writing either screenplay, though the very nice Cabin folks have been asking for my feedback on the process so far. The movie in both cases are their own thing, separate from the book. I just hope that the movie captures the thematic spirit of the novel.

Hi Paul! Only discovered your work in the last year or two and a huge fan. I grew up in Sharon and I was wondering if you are ever going to feature it more in your writing, other than parts of Borderland and Ames Street Playground. Additionally, any chance of upcoming (if during the pandemic, socially distant) book signings in the local area?

Hi Paul! You've probably heard from me on Twitter once or twice; Mark Genevich and I have something in common and it's NOT Lithuania. Since getting my narcolepsy diagnosis 10 years after adding The Little Sleep to my list of favs, I've had warm-fuzzies about having a character that so accurately portrays narcolepsy and the effect it has on the psyche/self-esteem. How did you get it so right? Research or experience?
