Goodreads asked Nesrine Sleiman:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Nesrine Sleiman My book Stop! breathe! and think is my actual teaching strategy. to promote children emotional development I tend to create a story about a child dealing with a problem. This book is one of the problems I presented to my students. usually, I have cards with children pictures. I start by reading the story presenting the problem to the children. on their cards, I write their answers on how they think we should solve that problem. eventually, we get to read every one solution and suggestions. children by this will learn to express their opinion, feel accomplished, gain confidence, understand emotions, engage with teacher, and most important learn that whenever we have a problem we just need to stop breathe and think. for every problem, there must be a solution. preschool teachers understand how for a 4-5 years old child a problem could mean that the world is coming to an end.
