First, I absolutely LOVE The Unwanteds! I was just wondering, what is your process of writing a book? How do you determine the perspective of your books? Why did you decide to write in third person omniscient in The Unwanteds? Do you write in that perspective for all your books(I haven’t read any of your other books yet, but I plan to)? Sorry, I know that’s a lot of questions. Thanks! Luv u!

Hi Evie,
Thank you for your kind words about The Unwanteds. I chose 3rd person omniscient, past tense, from a few main perspectives (plus a few minor ones at times) because I wanted the reader to get a more complex view of this world and see it from multiple sides. It sort of came naturally for this book--I just felt it was right for this series (I know that's not very helpful, but that's how things work sometimes--it's intuition). My other books for young adults are not written this way. They are third person present or first person present.

Hi! I’m a huge fan! And I’m curious on what you’re gonna do next for children books! You don’t have to answer I’m just curious. I was a huge fan of the Unwanteds series and would love to see more stories like that! And now I’m currently reading your Visions series. Is there a way to find out about any upcoming books you’re writing? (Does that count as a question lol?)

Hi! First off, I just want to say I love your book series the unwanteds(and quests). My question is about Alex. I realize the book needs to be realistic, but can’t kitten just revive him? Mr.Today couldn’t be revived because he had already decomposed by the time the group had access to quill. Anyway, really, thank you for writing this absolutely amazing adventure book series.

Hi Lisa, I just finished your book "Wake" and as I was reading, I thought to myself, how did this author get the idea to write this book? So my questions is, How did you come up with ideas on the details and plot of the story? Also, how do you write your stories, do you write them from the last chapter to the first, or first to the last?
