I have never, ever in my lifetime cried when reading a book. I'm a pretty emotionally strong guy- BEFORE I GO put me under the covers for a few minutes while the tears poured into the weaving of my pillow. What a phenomenal piece. As a writer I feel the emotion I am writing- and I wonder- did you feel it yourself when writing it as heavily as I felt it when reading it?

I just finished 'The Mostly True Story of Tanner & Louise' and I loved it. Given your anecdote about Sybil Ludington and at least two characters named after towns in Connecticut (Danbury and Trumbull), I had to ask: did you grow up there? Congrats on the book's success. Fingers crossed that the movie works out.
