When you research Paranormal phenomenon, what is your mindset? As an engineer may I assume, you take each aspect apart and then try to rebuild a hypothesis that would make sense scientifically? And, if so, are there ever things you just can't explain? I'm a curious soul. :)

I try and use a scientific approach as much as possible. Also, I try and start with the most mundane explanation and work back from there. For instance, with a report from a bizarre type of creature, I try and think of all area wildlife that might have been misidentified. Then I'll try and think of exotic species that might have somehow ended up in there area. I'll try and eliminate what I can before moving on to theories that border on the supernatural.
So, yes, I try and use a scientific approach, but at the same time I believe scientific explanations oftentimes fall short in dealing with these topics.
