I saturate myself with music from the 1970's. I take a walk with my iPod and I listen to music that Grizz, Kit and Grunt would be listening to from that era and conversations and scenarios just pop into my head. I keep a list of "scenes" I want to see in my book. When I'm writing, I'll look back at that list and just start writing. But, to answer the question in one word, it's simple for me...music.
