How do you get inspired to write?

Debbie Ethell I get inspired to write by sitting at my desk and...writing. Some days nothing comes but on those days that inspiration hits I am there, right where I am supposed to be, ready to latch on and write like my life depends on it. Another way I get inspired to write is by doing research. I am a researcher by trade and know I am not able to fully grasp any story until I've done all of the research on a particular topic that I can. Then a story seems to take shape without my having to work so hard.
