Mark Feinsand and I were both on the Yankees beat in 2009. I was with MLB.com, where I still work today, and he was at the New York Daily News. We had tossed around ideas about a project that we could collaborate on and kept coming back to 2009. It was such an eventful year to be around the Yankees, with the closing of the old Stadium, the opening of the new one, a spending spree of more than $400 million on free agents, and a clubhouse filled with Hall of Famers, superstars and fun personalities. The more we talked about it, we realized it would be great fun to revisit that season with every player on the roster, 10 years after the parade. It exceeded our expectations and we learned many things that we didn't even know in '09!
