Goodreads asked Natasha Oliver:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Natasha Oliver Writing is a marathon. It’s the longest race you’ll ever run, and you’ll largely race against yourself.

Success will almost always never look like what you thought it would, but by the time you achieve it, you’ll have accepted that.

Get yourself a copy of Dr Seuss’ Oh The Places You’ll Go, and read it. There are a ton of books you can read for craft, but this book reminds me of the emotional ups and downs of writing. It cannot rain forever, but neither can the sun always shine.

Don’t quit. Believe in yourself despite the evidence.
