Goodreads asked Steven Partridge:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Steven Partridge Take criticism gracefully and gratefully. Anyone who takes the time to offer constructive criticism should be thanked and valued; they invested their own time in your work. Even when it stings, even when it hurts, be grateful. For, in every bit of criticism, there lies a seed of truth, even if that seed is that this is merely one person's truth and perspective.

Remember to accept criticism with grace. Even if you believe someone is trying to get you to compromise your work, decline their advice with grace, and never burn bridges. Be the type of writer you would want your readers to look up to.
