Are there any certain authors who influence or inspire you?

Marko Pandza Absolutely.

Clive Barker would be my #1. So eloquent and beautiful but so terrifying and creative. The Books of Blood changed my entire outlook on writing, and what specifically horror fiction could be. And, not that I knew it at the time, but seeing Candyman at a very young age basically set me on a horror-loving trajectory I've been on ever since.

David Wong is another big one, particularly John Dies at the End. He can be so gross and horrifying, but also hilarious at the same time. I love the blend of cosmic dread and silly comedy. Horror and comedy is easy to botch and he's my role model for how to inject some laughs in a scary story.

Garth Ennis is huge for me, specifically the Preacher series. It's been botched (IMO) on AMC's adaptation, but the writing was so exciting and visceral and extreme. I tend to love writers who say what they're not supposed to with a kick-down-the-door attitude.
