Goodreads asked David A. Anderson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David A. Anderson I refuse to leave the room until I have written at least one paragraph. It's an achievable goal, which alleviates some of the pressure. Once you eke out that first paragraph, you've broken through a mental barrier. The next couple will follow. How I see it is, even 300 words are more than you had when you started the session, so chalk it up as a win. The following day will be easier.
