Goodreads asked Jacob Whaler:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jacob Whaler I don't really get what I would call "writer's block." Instead, I sometimes get "ideas block" when the flow of ideas just comes to a stop. Maybe it's the same thing. Usually, the best way through for me is to take a few days off, read an interesting book, go skiing or mountain biking, eat good food, get lots of rest. And then just jump back into writing and write garbage until the ideas start to come back. Then I just go back and delete or edit the garbage.
