Hello: My name is Carol Smith. I am a mother and grandmother of eight children. The title of your book "The Orphans of Raspay" has my attention. I have not read the synopsis. What can you tell me about this book that would make me want to read it?
Lois McMaster Bujold
The synopsis on the vendor pages is accurate, because I wrote it myself. Ferex https://www.amazon.com/Orphans-Raspay... also on iBooks and Nook.
I can't tell if you would like it, because every reader is different, but I can say the hero in this novella is a grownup, with grownup-level problems, which include looking out for other people.
It's fine to start here -- the story stands alone -- although there is a beginning to the arc, featuring a younger Penric, "Penric's Demon", that tells how his string of adventures first got started.
If you do read it/them, do report back and tell us how/if you enjoyed them.

I was wondering if you had any characters, items, places, dialogues, etc. that you've taken out of any of your stories that I could use for a story idea that had? My idea is about an island where story pieces that are thrown out, given up on or abandoned end up. I've been asking authors if they have anything I could use because I want to put some truth in the idea. It's totally fine if you don't have anything. Thanks!

Writer/director here. Thx for Heyer & Crusie. Thx for Siliang Island. Amazing what a few artsy geeks can do in an office in Beijing. The young Keanu avatar was a fun touch. The millennial-authored "Red White & Royal Blue" has abundant high spirits, romance, comedy, heart & old fashioned big stakes: when worlds collide. You might like it? As usual, the book's more fun than the movie, but one actor delights. Ciao.

I recently bought an apparently unpublished cover titled Barrayar, by Mark Salwoski. According to him "the artwork was done in the UK in the early 90’s". I wonder if this painting could have been for another of your books. It doesn't really fit "Barrayar" and would be more appropriate for "The Warrior's Apprentice" or "The VorGame". Had you seen it ?
