For my Secrets of Scarlett Hall series, I always enjoyed the mystery element in VC Andrews book Flowers in the Attic and the follow-up novels. Taking that idea, I began to imagine a family in Regency times run by a loving mother who held numerous secrets that slowly began to unravel.
