Goodreads asked Maria Yrsa Rönneus:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Maria Yrsa Rönneus Being a creative professionally is not different from other jobs. Forget all romantic notions of midnight outbursts of genius illuminated by candles in emptied wine-bottles. That is not how it works for most of us. "Inspiration" is just equal parts discipline and hard work. You have to get up in the morning and get to it, make sure to take breaks for lunch and afternoon coffee, talk a walk to get some air. But when you're by that empty screen or paper, just write. Anything. Once you've started writing or painting it usually starts flowing more easily.
