My parents read to me from the time I could listen. I loved telling stories as a child. I'm not sure when I determined that writing was part of my soul, but I decided to major in English after I took an elective in Southern Literature my sophomore year in college. We studied 4 incredible authors: Carson McCullers, Katherine Anne Porter, Flannery O'Connor, and Eudora Welty.
