Goodreads asked R.M. Methven:

How do you get inspired to write?

R.M. Methven I honestly cannot remember a time in my life where I didn't want to write. I've always loved the written word and stories in general. Books, movies, shows, games all forms of storytelling really, so I guess the best answer would just be being read to as a young child. My Mom read to us, my Dad read to us, my older siblings even read us books. It was my first form of entertainment really. I grew up on an old homestead a ways from town, for the first 5 years or more it was off grid and we only had a generator for power. We would start it up to watch a vhs here and there, but mostly we read books.
I fell in love with mysteries as I got older, when we got power and computers were getting more accessible my siblings and I started playing Nancy Drew Games and my family watched Agatha Christie's Poirot with David Suchet (I've seen it millions of times and it never gets old, such a great actor) we also watched Murder She Wrote. The idea of being a writer just sort of felt right after awhile.
