jayla asked Rainbow Rowell:

What made you write Eleanor & Park in third perosn?

Rainbow Rowell I didn't know at the time that third-person perspective was less common in young adult. And I didn't intentionally write a YA book. I thought it would be marketed toward adults, like my first book. So, really, I chose third-person past-tense because it felt most natural.
