Goodreads asked Hickory Mack:

How do you get inspired to write?

Hickory Mack I once read a book dedicated to inspiring new authors. The best advice I found in there was pretty straight forward. He said "If you wait for the inspiration to strike, you're never going to get your work done."

Basically, put your phone in the other room. Sit. Write. There have been entire days when I will write nothing but garbage I will never use. But the brain is a muscle. You've got to flex it, give it a work out. The more you write, the easier it becomes.

If you don't have any ideas handy google writing prompts. Pick one. Sit. Write. Go for it!
