Hi Katie - I'm so happy to hear you like my books! Noah will get his book. It should release in March, if I keep to my writing schedule. I have to admit it's a bit daunting to write from his perspective, but I think I do him justice.
As for writing a character that doesn't really fit in or have a useful skill, that's a good idea. I know that my characters would appreciate them anyway and that would be nice to show. At one point, I had a character in mind for Hobson Hills that took over his grandmother's antique shop, but had no business skills or knowledge of antiques. I may try to introduce him and flesh him out. I've also thought about creating a Bracken character in on Charybdis Station that doesn't have an obvious "fit" with the station. Hmm, I'll have to give it some thought. :)
