Goodreads asked Jim Weafer:

How do you get inspired to write?

Jim Weafer When my grandchildren were young, at bedtime I would give them three objects or three situations to choose from. Once they picked one, I would make up a bedtime story for them about their choice. I suppose they were decent stories as they seldom fell asleep until I finished the story. When my oldest granddaughter was age 9, she asked me, "Poppa, who is going to tell us stories when you are gone". I hadn't yet thought of my demise, but I decided to put my stories in writing. I eventually condensed many of them into a book called "A Kindness in Their Hearts".
