Goodreads asked Geanna Culbertson:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Geanna Culbertson Create for yourself first and for all other reasons second. When I started my book series, I did it just for me. I didn’t think of publishing or bigger dreams past that. I had a story that I needed to tell. I didn’t even really talk about the books I was writing for a couple of years. It wasn’t until I finished Book Three that I started looking for publishers. The passion that compelled me then is the same passion that fuels my core now – the Arc reactor to my Iron Man that keeps me fighting against even the toughest obstacles. If at the end of the day the effort you put into your work is still originally generated from that feeling of loving to write and needing to tell a story with the same vitality as you need to breathe the air, you will never give up, and you’ll push through any challenges that come your way.
