Goodreads asked Christer Lende:

How do you get inspired to write?

Christer Lende It's simple.
Just. Write. Every. Day.

Here's how I did it. I had an excel sheet where I inputted the daily word count of the book at the beginning and at the end of the day, and I HAD to write 500 every day. This worked great, and got me into a habit after doing it for 1,5 years. This forced me to write even when I was in a rut, and it kept my pacing in the story great. Because, as a novice I often felt that after something cool I had to lower the tension and excitement for a time, but this was stupid I realize now. Anyway, when I had to write the 500 words, I didn't have time to sit and think of filler things to slow the story down, so I just kept going with all the cool things, and that's the way to go, truly. I learned that the RIGHT way.
