How do you get inspired to write?

Anne Padgett Slowly. Ideas come to me all the time and sometimes they are persistent enough that I can't forget them. Those ones I write down and think about for a long time- months, even years. I have a notebook where I keep research and objects that relate that story idea. When its "cooked" enough, I start writing my outline and map out the book. I wish I could be like Steven King and write a new book every month. But, that is not my process.
