Goodreads asked John Servant:

How do you get inspired to write?

John Servant
I wrote these books because I was inspired to write them. I recently
heard about a top scorer on a women’s collegiate basketball team who decided to enter a cloistered nunnery after graduation where she is allowed to hug her mother only once every twenty-five years. She is now fifty years old. Someone asked her why she did it, and she responded that she had a calling. While my calling was no where near as great as hers, for me the themes and stories in these books of forgiveness and the mercy of God were a constant urging in my soul. I had to come back to them and keep moving forward. It would keep me awake in the middle of the night thinking about them. It constantly tugged at me during the day. For me these stories were a gift that came from the Lord for those who need His help and mercy. You ask why I wrote these stories. I wrote these stories to give glory to God and to help our fellow men and women by writing stories about God’s mercy and forgiveness.
