Goodreads asked D.M.C. Shaw:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

D.M.C. Shaw I focus on the world and it's characters. When I can see them clearly in my mind, all I need to do is ask. "What would they do next?" and then describe what comes to mind. The world of The Maker War is vibrant and real to me, so it's easy to see what Zavier's squad would be doing in real life.

Listening to music also helps. At the back of the book I have a "Soundtrack" section that lists my favorite tunes for inspiration for The Maker War.
