Lucky Stevens Joe yawned and casually smashed the spider with his slipper, wiped his sole and flushed the remains. The next morning, eyes at half-mast, and poised for his morning pee, he looked into the bowl and saw a spider as big as a microwave oven, reaching for him at full speed.
