Dear Ms. Hyde, I am super excited about your newest book coming out on the 19th, as it's on my birthday. It will be the second book of yours I've read (plan on catching up on all of them over the coming months). May I ask what inspired the story for "Brave Girl, Quiet Girl"? The plot sounds so intriguing, and I do not believe I've seen any books with anything close to it in a long time! Thank you again for writing.

Happy almost birthday!
I'm sorry to have to report that I don't really have the answer to what inspired the vast majority of my stories. I guess people figure I must know, because they don't have fictional people and stories popping into their heads out of nowhere. In other words, they are normal :-)
What happens is that I know I need a new story, so I hold still until I get a sense of a character and just a flash of something happening in their lives to change things. Then I sit with that until it gets more detailed. It really does come straight from "the ether."
Great to hear that you plan to catch up on my books. I should warn you though... that's a lot of reading!
Thanks for reaching out.

Loving this story but I'm confused about the location of this story. I looked up Blythe River and Blythe River wilderness. That's in Arizona but when Ethan is shipped off to live with his dad near the Blythe River Wilderness which is in Arizona they talk about Casper Wyoming and Yellowstone which they say is 100 miles north of where they were. Can you clarify? I love to travel with your characters!

I can not wait til your new book comes out. I actually put the dates on my calendar so I can plan to start reading as soon as they drop. I do not know how you churn out such great fiction so very often. All of your books have been so deep and heart-felt. I could not possibly pick one favorite but among my most loved are Alle & Bea, Walk me Home, and Worthy. Thanks so much. ?????
