I CANNOT wait!!! So I do have another question... I thought about this while getting up this morning and having a major migraine while getting ready for work.. Those lotions and such that can help with ailments.. Where can I get those??? I have a friend who sells those essential oils and they really did not work.. But reading this story about alternative medicine was soooooooo interesting!!! Do they really exist?

So interesting that you responded to the eastern oils and remedies. I did a lot of research on herbal cures and the various oils used for different maladies. I didn't purchase any from a specific store, so I can't recommend a place. However, I have found that lavender bath salts really do calm and relax me. Coconut oil is wonderful for dry skin, dry hair and nails. My mother loved to spend a day with her hair combed through the coconut oil; it left her scalp and hair so shiny and soft. The key might be to look for the purest essential oils, not ones that are scented and infused with chemicals. If anyone else who is reading this has a suggestion for Milly, please share!

Can you truly understand what it is like for a woman growing up in India when you left at such an early age? One Indian reviewer said you wrote for white women, not for what it was like for true Indian women. "I found the narrator, Lakshmi Shastri, a henna artist who reads Dickens and Jane Austen, rather unbelievable. Her explanations on what Indians do and don’t do seem written for that white woman audience."

I am so glad to be reading your book -The Henna Artist. I am enjoying it so much that I am reading one chapter a day because I don't want the story to end. I am doing a research on women writers from Rajasthan, for that purpose, I'd love to know more about what inspired you to start writing for this book at the first place?
