Hello, I love Riyria and I was wondering will there be some books on what happens after the Riyria Revelations? Will there be more Riyria Chronicles? Oh and I'm currently reading Hollow World and so far it's really great! Thanks Tammy

Hey Tammy, so glad that you love Riyria. If I've not already sent you one, drop me an email (michael(dot)sullivan(dot)dc(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll send you an afterword that you might like.
When I wrote The Riyria Revelations I had a complete end-to-end story to tell and when the last book was done, everything had wrapped up the way I wanted it to. When it became apparent that people wanted more, I decided to go to the other end of the timeline and write books relating around the forming of Riyria. The main reason for this is I didn't want to "tack on" to the ending I worked so carefully on.
I won't say "never" but I don't have an immediate plans for more Royce/Hadrian tales post Percepliquis (last book of Heir of Novron). I do have some ideas in my head that will take place after that but various characters from Riyria Revelations will be cameos or mentioned in passing. That book will have a whole new set of "main" characters. After I get my current queue of books done, I may come back and revisit the Riyria Revelations with a sequel to show more about the events after they wrapped up. I'll keep people posted.
As for a third Riyria Chronicle...yes, I'm definitely writing one of those. And it will be started fairly soon. I've been working out the details of the plot as I write other things and once I have the story worked out the whole book should come together pretty easily. Having an established world and known characters makes this a fast write. Whether there will be more Chronicles after #3 is impossible to say at this point. My strategy is to put a book out and wait to see what the readership says. If the pair hasn't overstayed their welcome, I'd love to write more. I just don't want to be "that guy" who doesn't know when to quit and ends up staying around too long.
So glad to hear you are enjoying Hollow World. In many ways it is very different than my other books (more thought-provoking in theme) but it still has (I hope) my characteristic style for "light reading" that doesn't get to heavy and has some characters that people love.
Thanks for asking!

Hello MJS. I am going to find your book The First Empire. I enjoyed just reading what you have here on this page. I will start it in less than a week and let you know how I like it. My reading group is looking for a new author to start in on. We just finished all of JRRT books and so a new adventure begins in Jan. Is there a better starting book from you?

What non-fantasy book do you think has had the most impact on the way you approach writing?

I only recently discovered your work, and I must admit that this is the most attached I've ever become to characters. With that said, I recently read on your website regarding the 3rd book in Riyria Chronilces, is this a sequel to the Heir of Novron? Thank you for your time.
