I'm originally from W.Va., and I've been reading Ronald Lewis works, especially "Transforming the Appalachain Countryside." This work was very valuable for my speculative fiction story "Jerry." That story is in Future Ecology, fairly long (18K words) and it comtemplates WV 250 years hence. It's a more interesting place than at pleasant, and Tolkien made a lasting impression on the denizens. Damn good story!
