How do you get inspired to write?

Sarah King Depending on what I'm trying to write, I have various techniques. Sometimes, if I'm a bit burned out I just need to go and consume other stories. I'll start reading voraciously, trying to replenish the 'well' so to speak. Other times, if I'm just having trouble with a particular story because I can't get in the mood, I'll use music that I associate with the book or I'll look at photos of the characters, places, etc that always get my writer juices going.
